Hello, I'm Sophia
Project manager. A parent. An expat currently living in Zurich, Switzerland.
A few years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Switzerland wasn't part of the grand plan. Like many relocation stories, it started with a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were tough — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Routine tasks seemed more complicated than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning by doing. Yet gradually, routines settled in. We found spots that worked for us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Created Ember Field Path
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Switzerland.
